Thomas Hunter

February 23, 1943 — November 11, 2020

Thomas R. Hunter, 77, died November 11, 2020, at home in Driggs, Idaho. He was born February 23, 1943, in Kansas City, Missouri. He was the son of Robert and Naomi Hunter.

Tom graduated from North Kansas City High School, class of 1961. Following graduation, he served in the U.S. Air Force in Wichita, Kansas, where he received his pilot's license and love of flying that never went away.

He met his wife, Debbie, in Kansas City, Missouri, in 1970 and they were married on February 14, 1971. Tom was a loyal member of many flying clubs, golf clubs and business clubs. He moved to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, in 1976 to build the first condos called Meadowlark behind the R J Bar. In 1977, he moved to Driggs, Idaho, and met the most wonderful people in the world. Tom stayed busy with construction, baseball, hunting, golf and just drinking tall tales with his buds.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Denise O'Neill. He is survived by his wife, Debbie, his son Ladd Taylor, two grandchildren, Casey and husband Cody Maskell, and Paisley Taylor. He is also survived by two brothers, Dick and wife Joy Hunter, Jimmy and wife Deb Hunter and two sisters, Julie and Carol Jayne Hunter, somewhat adopted siblings, Chuck and wife Karen, Gary Peters, and Diane with husband Gary L'Heuruex. Those who would like to remember Tom in a special way make gifts. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Tom's memory to the Young Eagles of Driggs Reed Memorial Airport.

Though his smile is gone forever and his hand I cannot touch

I still have so many memories or the one I loved so much

His memory is now my keepsakes, which with I will never part,

God has him in His keeping, I have him in my heart.

Sadly missed, but never forgotten!
